Dickensville, Collectibles by Peha

The Dickensville range of lighted houses and Christmas village accessories has something of a split personality. You will discover Dickensville products under the Noma International brand. These are produced for the American market and should not be confused with Dickensville, Collectables by Peha. The latter are high quality porcelain lighted buildings and it is those we will focus on here at christmasvillages.co.uk.

History Of Dickensville

Dickensville Collectables by Peha started producing buildings and accessories for the Christmas village market in 2010. They are perhaps best known for their “Elfsteden” or Eleven City series. This is a unique range, based on the Eleven Cities Tour, an ice-skating tour in the region of Friesland, Netherlands, which is almost 200km long. The tour cannot take place every year as it is dependant on weather conditions and ice coverage along the entire length of the course, which traverses frozen rivers, canals and lakes and visits eleven historic Frisian cities. All the buildings in this range are replicas of real buildings from the eleven cities the tour visits.

Dickensville Frosty Village

Dickensville also has a wide range of accessories for landscaping and to enhance the overall effect of the miniature village. Technically, the Eleven City series is not specifically a Christmas village, although of course the tour does take place in winter. In 2015, Dickensville introduce a new range, Dickensville Frosty Village. Most definitely produced for the Christmas village market, Frosty Village consists of buildings of silver and white and all have colourful animations and scenes within.

Using Dickensville Electrical Items in UK:

Dickensville lighted buildings and accessories are designed for use in Europe and will be fitted with European plugs. It might be possible to replace light fittings with those from another brand that are available with a UK plug fitted. Alternatively, there should not be any issue with using a standard travel adaptor. It should be noted however that these are not intended for continuous or long-term use.

Many Dickensville, Collectibles by Peha models can optionally be operated using 2AA batteries but you should verify individual models before making a purchase.
