Hello and welcome to christmasvillages.co.uk.
I first fell in love with the world of miniatures and Christmas villages during the festive season of 2014. Looking for something a little special to decorate the family home and to hopefully catch the imagination of two small children, I discovered Lemax.
I purchased three porcelain lighted buildings from the Caddington Village range to form the basis of my display. To this I added some figurines, street lighting, Christmas fairy string lights and then some landscaping accessories – a snow blanket, a cobbled road, some scatter snow and an adapter. I had spent in the region of £100 and had acquired a reasonable sized display that enthralled children and adults alike.
The ambiance my Christmas village created within the home brought real festive spirit. While it rained outside in the real world beyond the curtains on a typical Scottish, dreary December evening, inside there were gently twinkling fairy lights and a soft warm glow emitted from the Victorian style shops along the cobbled high street, while children played in the crisp, white snow.
The holiday season soon passed but my new found interest in miniatures didn’t. I picked up another couple of lighted buildings and a mountain display unit in the post-Christmas sales, ready for a bigger, better display for next year. No doubt there will be further new additions in the run-up to each Christmas season.
A website featuring these fabulous products was the next logical step. I am an experienced webmaster and already owned and managed several successful websites in other genres and so christmasvillages.co.uk was born.
Here, we hope to bring you news on product releases and retirements and use our experience to provide technical assistance. We can also help you source and purchase old or retired products. In addition, we hope to provide helpful hints, tips and tutorials for displaying these enchanting collectibles.
